What is KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.”
How long is each session? How many will I need?
KYBELLA® injections generally only take a couple of minutes to perform. Your entire visit will generally last 60 minutes, or less, including prep and recovery time. Depending on the amount of under-chin fat you have, you may need 1-3 sessions. We will discuss your particular needs at your personalized consult!
How long will the results last? Will it come back?
KYBELLA® will PERMANENTLY destroy adipose (fat cells) under the chin. This is accomplished by the enzymatic reaction of the medication on the cells. The enzyme is naturally occurring in the human body, and KYBELLA® harnesses this reaction to selectively remove fat from this area. It is FDA-approved for this indication.
The fat cells destroyed will never return, however, it is not a form of weight loss and weight gain will cause any remaining fat cells in the area to grow which could cause some return in fullness. It is important to maintain a healthy weight, nutrition, and diet, for optimal results.
